Q. I am a UG student at IIT Roorkee. Am I eligible for tuition fee waiver?
Ans: Yes, you are eligible for tuition fee waiver subject to rules for fee waiver.
Q. Is an EWS/OBC certificate required for the Tuition Fee Waiver?
Ans: No, there is no need to upload the EWS/OBC certificate to avail the benefits of the Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme.
Q. I am a M Tech student at IIT Roorkee. Am I eligible for tuition fee waiver?
Ans: No, you are not eligible for fee waiver.
Q. I am a M.Sc. student at IIT Roorkee. Am I eligible for fee waiver?
Ans: No, you are not eligible for fee waiver.
Q. I am a PhD student at IIT Roorkee. Am I eligible for tuition fee waiver?
Ans: No, you are not eligible for fee waiver.
Q. How do I know about my eligibility for tuition fee waiver given by IIT Roorkee?
Ans: There are two categories of fee waiver under which students can apply: In case your total family income is less than Rs1 lakh per annum, you are eligible for 100% tuition fee waiver. In case, your total family income is between Rs1 lakh to Rs5 lakh per annum, you are eligible for 2/3 tuition fee waiver.
Q. What are the documents needed for availing the fee waiver?
Ans: The following documents are mandatory to be submitted to avail fee waiver scheme Pan Card of Father Pan Card of Mother Pan Card of Guardian (if applicable) Aadhar Card of Father Aadhar Card of Mother Aadhar Card of Guardian (if applicable) ITR of Father ITR of Mother ITR of Guardian (if applicable) NOTE: Failing to submit all documents/ submission of incorrect documents will lead to rejection of your application. (Subject to exceptions)
Q. What is the meaning of “family” for the purpose of family income?
Ans: Family means father, mother, guardian whose income is used for supporting you such as income of brother, sister etc. will also be considered.
Q. My father is working and mother is a housewife, is it necessary to submit Pan card and ITR of my mother?
Ans: Yes, it is mandatory to submit PAN card and ITR of both parents (mother and father) to be eligible for fee waiver benefit.
Q. My father is not alive and my mother is housewife and no other member of my family is earning, what kind of document I need to submit.
Ans: In case, only one of the parents is alive/supporting, upload PAN CARD and ITR of the single parent along with the death certificate/Affidavit of Separation.
Q. Do I need to submit hardcopies of all documents in the office?
Ans: No, you need to upload all the documents mentioned in Answer 5 on the portal for fee waiver form.
Q. The last date of applying for the fee waiver is over. I could not submit my documents in time. Now portal is closed. What can I do?
Ans: No, any application submitted after closing of form will not be entertained via emails or any other mode. (Subject to exceptions)
Q. I have deposited my full fee, but I am eligible for fee waiver. What should I do?
Ans: In case, you have deposited full fee and you are eligible for fee waiver, you can submit your application by filling Fee Waiver form. Once your name is in the list, your case will be processed for fee refund.
Q. How will I come to know about my fee waiver/refund status?
Ans: List of fee waiver/refund cases will be notified on Channel-i along with SCSP website. Amount of fee refund will be credited in the student bank account only.
Q. When will I receive the amount?
Ans: Usually it takes 30 days or more for the amount to be transferred. But for all fund related queries please contact the accounts section directly.
Q. I am eligible for fee waiver but I do not have the complete required documents. Is it possible to process my application now and I'll submit the documents later?
Ans: No, failing to submit all documents/ submission of incorrect documents will lead to rejection of your application. To avail the facility of tuition fee waiver scheme, student must submit all the mandatory documents.
Q. I am a UG student at IIT Roorkee. Am I eligible for MCM?
Ans: Yes, you are eligible for MCM subject to rules for MCM.
Q. I am a M Tech student at IIT Roorkee. Am I eligible for MCM?
Ans: No, you are not eligible for MCM.
Q. I am a M.Sc. student at IIT Roorkee. Am I eligible for MCM?
Ans: Yes, you are eligible for MCM subject to rules for MCM.
Q. I am a PhD student at IIT Roorkee. Am I eligible for MCM?
Ans: No, you are not eligible for MCM.
Q. How do I know about my eligibility for MCM given by IIT Roorkee?
Ans: MCM is only given to the top 25% students of a class/course. Apart from this, students must fulfil the following criteria in order to apply for MCM. Who are financially constrained i.e. whose family income is below Rs. 5 Lakh per annum and therefore received tuition fee waiver benefit. Who secured a CGPA>=7.

Ans: The following documents are mandatory to be submitted to avail MCM scheme Pan Card Father Pan Card Mother Pan Card Guardian (if applicable) ITR Father ITR Mother ITR Guardian (if applicable) Family Income Performa Latest Marksheet (both odd/autumn OR even/spring semesters) NOTE: Failing to submit all documents/ submission of incorrect documents will lead to rejection of your application. (Subject to exceptions)
